Health and Glow Relift Cranberry Body Scrub Review

From quite sometime , I was on hunt for a scrub. I always knew scrubs are good modes of doing a exolification on skin. Two years back , I was using the everyuth walnut scrub. Will put up a review sooner for the same.
Health & Glow has launched it own range of Body and skin products. Fresh and Natural as they claim, they tend to attract more attention. I was browsing those products when I found this Cranberry body scrub. Although I was on look-out for face scrub, I wanted to buy this as I was thrilled about the thought of getting the entire body exolificated and clean.
Now that I have used this product for about 2 weeks, I felt its the right time to post a review.

Price- INR 120
Product says -
Cranberry supports the skin against harmful oxidants. It deep cleanses and exfoliates.
Its been a month since I started using this scrub irregularly ;)
The scrub contains very small coarse materials. It contains a very creamy rich texture. It helps exofoliation without causing bruises on the skin.
It contains a very yumm fruity smell. Bet you would'nt mind licking it!
It is very ideal to be used after an oil massage. Feels very refreashing and relaxing to use this scrub. Not bad at all. But unfortunately the scrub does'nt lather at all. It can be used for 3 months generously, if used once a week.
Ingredients-
Cranberry oil, Vitamin E, Xanthan gum, Allantoin, Vegetable Glycerin, Semolina(Sooji), Sodium PC, Almon oil, Orange peel extract.

Thumbs up-
  • Contains a very sweet migrant fruity aroma
  • Scrub contains very fine particles
  • Exfoliation makes skin feel very refreshing
  • Comes a long way inspite of generous usage
  • Shelf life is 24 months

Thumbs down-
  • Comes in a tub
  • Does not lather at all
Will I re-purchase?

No, I feel I can find better body scrubs in market.

Biotique Bio Coconut cream review

After getting good reviews about this product from collegues and friends, I decided to try it myself and write a review. Its been more than a year that I've started using this product. Sitting in A/c for more than 8 hrs/day, exposed parts of skin, especially hands feel so dry and flaky. I desperately needed a moisturiser to make my skin hydrated and moisturised.

Price- INR 199 for 50gm

Ingredients- not mentioned

I apply this cream everyday once in the office although the products advises usage twice a day, morning and night. It has a creamy texture. Once it is applied on skin, skin tends to look shiny although not very greasy. Hence I don't use it on my face. Surprisingly, there is a thing I started observing on my hand skin after religiously using this for over a month. My tan is reduced visibly. Yes, its true, the whitening and brightening claim proves to be true.

Thumbs up-
  • Not very expensive
  • Tan reduces as proclaimed. Me happy!
  • Biotique products have therapeutic properties.

Thumbs down-
  • The product comes in the usual boring green tub. Unhygenic to dig.
  • Can't be applied on face especially during summer as it is greasy.
  • Smell is irritating. No aroma.
Will I re-purchase?

Yup, In fact , I'm planning to buy another one once this gets over.

Safina Plaza

It was a normal weekend , with plans of loafing around and shopping in Commercial street. And yes, on your visit to commercial street, how amny times have you missed peeking inside Safina plaza? I for sure have never! In fact, there are times that I have ended up hauling more at Safina than in Commercial street. It, then again depends on the stalls that have been put up during your visit there.  Each time I go there, I have only been surprised!

This time, I didn't shop much. There are times I feel I would have walked kilometers togethers and climbed many plazas and malls, I wouldn't find a single eye-catcher. Contradictorily there have been times, where I have ended up buying everything at a single door. This visit belongs to the former category.

Let me leave you guys with some pictures!

Biotique flawless white face pack

Its been almost an year eversince I brought this face pack. This is one of my initial purchases of Biotique product. The product claims to reveal you a flawless glowing complexion. As always, not much can be expected when it comes to improving you completion or the color of you skin.

The pack is mauve colored thick cake with some divine smell of camphor and instence sticks. But what can you expect from a Ayurvedic product. Its not bad or something, but definitely could have been better.

There has been no change on my skin that I have noticed it after using it for a molnth or so. Now I have given it to mom, to somehow use ti and empty it. I felt it is utter waste of money.
It is very thick cake. Little is not enough. Have to dig enough from the tub.

Price- INR 199 for 50gms

Thumbs up-
  • Its herbal. A biotique product.
  • I can't think of any more advantages after straining my mind for 10mins.

Thumbs down-

  • Smell is not pleasing.
  • It comes in a tub.
  • Same old boring green packing.
  • Has not done any good to my skin, neither has it done anything bad.
Will I re-purchase?

Definitely not, and I'd advice the same to all my readers.

Fruit injection addiction!

The weather has got me smitten to hot fruit injections. For people who are wondering what these injection are all about, they are just flavoured fruit bags, alike tea bags. You just have to dip the sachet in hot water with sugar, or you can go a  step ahead and add citric powder to add the tinge of bitterness.
Yesterday I caught up with quite many movies. Enjoyed every bit of Datenight! Exciting movie indeed. Post which I watched Knight and day, my love for Cameron Diaz got more stronger. And need I mention about Tom cruize? K&D is one movie , I can watch any number of times without fast forwarding.

I swap between Typhoon and Twinings. Twinings has variant flavours - Mango, Cinnanom, Blackberry, Green tea, Pineapple, Canberry etc,. I have tried all these. Mostly the flavors are a combination in the same sachet. They are really yummy and after drinking this hot syrup, I feel very relaxed.
On the box, it is written - Best time to have before going to bed, I don't think this induces sleep. I used to have it during coffee breaks in office.
Enjoying weekend with fruit syrup and a line of movies. :)

Easy Kichen

I know how it feels to come home after work especially in the chill weather as it is here in Bangalore.
Every night, from past 2 weeks it has become a routine wearing socks, cotton plugs inside ears, and pulling over the thick blanket. Every morning I wish a mandatory coffee-greet! And evenings by hot soups. But how often do we feel like walking over to kitchen and make things that satiate our wishes?
Most of the times, we end making the famous Maggi. If you got more than 2 minutes then yes, chopping few carrots, beans, capcicum and spring onions. But with the same 2 minutes at hand , I make my Maggi look more colorful and tasty too with just 2 lame steps.

Isn't is colourful enough even without the veggies!

The yummy Maggi, now more flavorized!

The flavors, ideally used on Pizzas. Experimenting in kitchen is never a sin!

Mangalorean Idlis

Yesterday I was really dog hungry by noon after a lot of travelling. I rushed with mom to a small place that is very near to my home. It is a Mangalore based restaurant that caters to tastes of authentic Mangalorean dishes. Since I was real hungry, I ordered for Idli as it s usually served faster and easy to gallop also.

And I was surprised by the way it was presented. The typical Mangalorean Idli, wrapped and baked inside mango leaves. The leaves actually add flavor to the dish. This was third time I had this delicacy and loved it more. Although most of my South Indian readers would be aware of this Idli, let me remind you the tempting look of the smoky hot soft Idlies.

Have a look!

Gujrathi Exibhition

A long day it was! The day had many unexpected turns. Never knew , today I would be visiting Central Bangalore. Rode all the way, picked mom, went to Chitrakala Parishat. When it comes to Sales and exibhitions, Mom is a one stop dictionary for all these. Constantly updated GPS she has. I wonder how! (Now you know, where the shoppping and roaming stincts in me come from) Really!

Chitrakala Parishat is one of my favourite places for all kinds of handicraft exibhitions. This is one thing, I have to tell my readers. When it comes to handicrafts, I am a sucker for it. Totally!

Although not a wide variety of stalls were put up, it was an eyecatching experience. For me, always it is! I just love the innovative pieces of arts, paintings, those creative sculptures made out of sea shells, coconut shells, Jute and what not?
Now let me treat your eyes with all that I saw today.

Chitrakala Parishat from outside

The artist involved into his work. Proficient in nail painting, he can demo the process in a mere 50secs.

Just focus on the frame, not the reflection :-\

Tera cota set of masks that caught my attention.

Cake boutique

"All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy" (I'm not jack but maybe Jill)

Work that starts morning goes on, hunting for solutions on Google and other forums chasing the deadline for the task. Amidst, when time permits, grabbing a coffee becomes a luxury!
It was during these coffee breaks that I go to a nearby cake boutique near office. It is a small place, that serves hot and fresh samosas, sandwiches and tasty pastries.

Now let me tempt you with the pictures!

Weekend get-together

The weather was gloomy, mornings greeted with the chill and misty air outside. After indulging in a day long slumber hubby and I (I although rode to mom’s place for an hour and was back) were invited by our friends Rajan and Jai for a stay over party. For guys stay over means beer and gadget talk while for us it was breezer and gossip!

Jai had recently revived the Décor at her home. Saturday night we had long talks accompanied with hot bondas, beverages and chapati with paneer. Expectedly we hit pillows for a late night , rather early morning sleep.

Sunday we planned to visit Meenakshi mall in Bannerghata road. The mall was crowded with many end of season sale all over. While Jai indulged in cosmetic shopping, I for the first time suppressed my temptations and waited in Reliance trends where hubby and Rajan were busy choosing DVD rips of off-beat movies.  The night stay over schedule repeated for Sunday too as the weather didn’t permit travelling.

We had a splendid long  weekend! Thanks to our hosts for making the weekend a joyous
 get-together.

Beer with buyounce!

Hot hot aloo bondas on a cold rainy evening

I loved this pair of bamboo seats

The matrix houses, I call these! Surya city in Chandapura.

Hot & sour soup which I garnished generously with pepper!
